Potty training is my least favorite aspect of parenthood so far. It ranks worse than labor – and that’s pretty bad. At least labor is usually over within a day.
I was really stressed and worried about it for the first child. It was horrible. When it came time for the second child to be trained it was a breeze. Third time through is up and down with neither of us finding the needed motivation. In our defense we have moved and gone on more trips during this potty training season.
We have good days and bad days. She will tell me as she is going, but that’s not a big help now, is it? Why does it always seem to be in the middle of the grocery store or during my shower that she has to go?
I know I’m partially to blame. I say, “Let’s use the bathroom.” She says, “I don’t have to go.” I say, “Okay, we’ll try later.” Bad Mommy.
I’m looking forward to the day when I don’t have to buy any more diapers, although I’ll probably keep some baby wipes around. They are good for so many things – including stains in clothes.
Do you have a lot of potty training to go through yet or is your house diaper free?
