I’m not talking money investments. I’m talking about children.
Lately I’ve been asking myself this question, “Is this short term action worth it for the long term result I want?”
I know how I want my children to turn out, how I want them to be and act as adults.
Is plopping them in front of a DVD for short term relief helping me or hindering me in the long run? [I’m thinking of moderation and quality more than totally doing away with – because I’m weak.]
Is giving in on something [because they won’t stop asking] worth it in the long run, or do I just need to dig in my heels some more?
Why can’t it all be as cut and dry as food? “Drink your milk. It makes your bones strong. Eat your broccoli it’s good for you. Only 2 pieces of candy…” etc.
I know there is no cut and dry answer. I’m just sharing some of my recent thought process.
I’m trying to remember the forest and not just focus on the trees that are in my face every day.
What do you think?
