Watch Over Me by Christa Parrish is a book that deals with many heavy issues. The subplots tie together without a lot of confusion or questions as Ben and Abbi fight to keep their marriage and faith. I admire the fact that they did not give up, and that God doesn’t give up on them.

Matthew is an amazing person considering how he has grown up. It’s almost unbelievable, but refreshing to read about his strong sense of right and wrong, his sense of responsibility, his patience with his cousins, his servant’s heart, and his knowledge of the Bible.

The characters and times are really modern and tugged at my heart, but the overall feeling I received from the book was sadness. The ending left me with a sense of hope that things were working out.
