Is There Such A Thing As Too Much Computer Back Up?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Carbonite for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Carbonite Online Backup

My father-in-law learned a lesson in a very hard way. While rearranging his office he dropped his external hard drive. In less than a minute everything he had on the hard drive was unaccessible. Well, he could have paid an extraordinary amount of money to ship the broken hard drive several states away with the possibility that they might – only MIGHT – recover the data. If he would have been using Carbonite it would have been no problem at all.

My First Teleconference

When I saw the email from Nancy inviting me to join a teleconference I read it twice to make sure that it was meant for me.  I emailed back like it was and she replied positively.  I breathed a sigh of relief that she hadn’t accidently included my email address.

Soon it was the day of the teleconference.  I figured that since it was right after nap time my munchkins would play ok and let me alone for a little bit.  They weren’t a problem.  My computer was.

You know how I’m always ahead of time [cough, cough], organized [cough, cough], and have all my ducks in line [cough, cough, cough].  So it was at teleconference time.

It went like this: Open Twitter…Other ladies are already in…Pull up instructions…Pull up page…Safari doesn’t have Java…IE is bonkers and won’t let me paste url…Put shoes on 2 kids…Run for laptop…Put coats on 2 kids…See on Twitter that teleconference is starting…Manually type url into browser on laptop….Threaten the kids so they stay outside…Type in password…Run upstairs for phone with mute…

I’m in!  I have sound!

Put on mute and speaker phone…Realize I missed the spiel but can hear the questions…Marvel at seeing the person talk via the webcam…Wipe nose, tie shoe, zip coat then push children back out the door…Twitter away…Get hungry for ice cream…Listen to the other bloggers ask questions…Say hello to husband who just got home…Twitter some more…Thank Nancy for the wonderful opportunity…Hang up phone…Find husband and bounce around telling him all about my first teleconference.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, was how I found out about Haagen-Daz five. I’m giving away a coupon for a free carton of their ice cream in my previous post.

Did you ever take part in a teleconference?

Did You Miss Me?

Our computer is sick.

Yesterday my husband worked on restoring it to health.

I had fun playing hookie. ;)

See ya later!

Entertaining and Educational…I hope.

My MonitorIf your computer monitor is visible from your table or living room I have an idea for you.

We used to have pictures of our kids as a slideshow for our screensaver. In this apartment the computer desk is 6 feet from the dinner table so they were really watching their own pictures. A lot.

I’m not so sure how good that is so I decided to switch pictures. Plus, I got tired of hearing, “I like when we did such-and-such Mommy. Can we do that again?”

The kids and I brainstormed a list of animals to download pictures of. Now we watch and comment about all kinds of animals from possums to crocheted black sheep. It even makes better lunchtime conversation for me.

The kids like to think up new animals to add and I like to sneak in a new picture every now and then to see who notices it first.

It’s got to be somewhat educational, right? Now my kids know the difference between a box turtle and a snapper. Maybe that will save a finger someday.
