I had the brilliant idea of taking Easter pictures with the chicks. We didn’t do too bad for 3 children and 4 chicks. This isn’t the best one, but I like it.
Who can resist looking at and touching the chicks? I can’t.

A Mother and her child;
A wondrous boy,
A dead man raised to life;
A few poor fishermen,
An Upper Room,
A feast, a garden, and a judgment hall.
A Crown of thorns, a scourge,
A bitter cross;
A great stone rolled away
And tears;
A springtime morning
And an empty tomb;
A Feast, a Blessing, and a Risen Christ.

We are taking three days off school for spring break. My list of things I want to do is long. It includes kite flying, bubble blowing, cookie making, egg dying, book reading…
I hope everyone had a blessed Easter!

Early Easter morning
When everything was still,
I looked into the distance
At a lonely hill…
I seemed to see a vision
Of three great crosses there,
On one a dying Saviour
Whose head was bowed in prayer;
His voice was clear and gentle
As softly it came through,
“Father,” He said, “Forgive them,
For they know not what they do.”
Another glorious Easter
Is on the earth today,
A time for great rejoicing,
When we shall sing and pray
Glad hallelujah phrases
To laud the Son God gave
Who, on that Easter long ago,
Was victor o’er the grave.
But let us oft remember
The pain and sacrifice
That gave this day its meaning…
It cost a precious price!

The beauty of a garden
Dew-wet and hushed and still,
Heavy with the fragrance
Of blossoms…Always will
Bring to us a message
Of that first Easter dawn
When Christ, our Lord and Saviour
Arose, and hope was born.
The grave that knew no victory,
The sorrow turned to joy;
A faith that glows forever,
And doubts cannot destroy;
All this and more is Easter,
And with thankful hearts we sing
Our joyous Alleluiahs
To Christ, our risen King!
O lovely Easter lilies,
Forever set apart
With glowing, prayer-tipped candles
On His altar in my heart.
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Psalm 43:8
