Two weeks ago when my friend and I were at library story time we looked at the craft table and groaned. We did. Literally groaned. [Literally in two ways since we were at the library. snicker] Our children shouted with joy. They got to use paint! Yoy. Do Your Children Pick Your Flowers?
My mom always let me pick flowers. There was a little jar under the sink that I could use for dandelion, buttercup, and clover bouquets. Lots of Rain Equals Lots of Flowers
Don’t Save the Date
I usually get 2 boxes of chocolate for Valentine’s Day. Are you wishing you did too?
Notice that I said “for”, not “on” Valentine’s Day. You get it now, right?
My husband goes out the day after Valentine’s Day to buy my candy. He pays less for the candy and I get more of it! Can’t beat that.
I’ve also made it clear that I DO NOT want flowers on Valentine’s Day. Buy me chocolate instead. Some day when it’s not expected and I’ve had a rough time would be a better occasion for flowers. Of course, being the Mr. Wonderful that he is he does just that. Occasionally. When I’m cranky…’nough said.
My Frugal Tip is to not be set on the actual date of February 14. Be flexible and save money by purchasing gifts the day after. [CVS is a great place to check.

We still celebrate Valentine’s Day. We’ll go out together on that day, and I’ll tell you more about that later.
