Mother Cards Giveaway

*Giveaway ended. Random.org picked #1 as the winner. Congrats Kelly!

UPrintingDid you know that you can really offend a Japanese person by writing on their business card? They take business card printing very seriously. It’s very different from here in America where we are encouraged to leave space with a matte finish so people can write notes on the card.

The Japanese also consider it rude if you fold the card or stuff it in your pocket. They view the business card as an extension of themselves and want you to treat it/them with respect.

That information got me to wondering if they exchange mother cards in Japan and if they put the same emphasis on those. If so, I probably would have been inadvertently rude because I tended to throw things into my diaper bag. It was neat for my first child, but by number 3…well…let’s just say that it was stuffed, flung around, thrown, drug by the other kids, etc. and I was just glad to have clean diapers when I needed them.

HTC HD75 SmartPhone Giveaway

This giveaway is now closed; it had to be short because of Christmas. Random.org picked comment #15. Congrats to Gina! Thank you to all who entered and helped spread the word.

I get to be the #attphonefairy’s assistant! I have confidence that I can assist her better than the tooth fairy because I’ve been lousy with that position. [I guess I don't know for sure that the #attphonefairy is a "her."] Anyhow…the fairy sent me an HTC HD7S phone to try. I’ve had it for 5 days. Before I tell you what I think of it here’s the official specs straight from Amazon:

$20 You Can Spend At DaySpring.com

This giveaway is closed. Random.org picked comment #9. Congrats to Andrea!

I just told my sister last week that I don’t do many giveaways any more. Well, I don’t, but I have one for you now. I’m able to offer a $20 gift certificate to DaySpring. How fun is that! It’s almost as much fun as when I got products in the mail from them. Hear what I got and if I like them [although you probably already know the answer to that] in the following video.

A Giveaway From Thomas Nelson

This post is a letter from Thomas Nelson asking you to complete their survey for a chance to win. I have not changed it at all. If you take their survey you can answer just the first part or continue the whole way through.

From Thomas Nelson:

One of the highlights of our days in the Fiction department at Thomas Nelson? Receiving reader letters—either directly addressed to us or passed along from our talented authors. It’s critical to be reminded that at the end of our long days acquiring, editing, designing, selling, marketing, and publicizing books, those stories are reaching readers, striking nerves, changing lives. We want readers’ feedback. How stories have given you hope. Which authors’ series you can’t help from sharing with everyone you meet. We want to know what makes you stay up late in the night to finish a story, and conversely what turns you away.

We’re conducting a series of surveys—seeking answers from readers who love Christian fiction. Up for grabs is a free ebook for every respondent who completes the survery, as well as a $10,000 prize for one entrant. The responses we gather will help shape the future of the books we publish for years to come. As well as the data we’re collecting here, we’ll also seek more in-depth feedback from a panel we’ll develop over the next year. More details to come. The note below from one of authors gives a specific picture of how reader feedback shapes her work. In short, your opinion matters! We thank you for your time and appreciate your responding.
