French Braiding My Hair

If you were wondering where I was today – wonder no longer.

I was making this video, getting it in the computer, changing the format, etc.

I really need to do video like this more often so I remember how to do all the steps.

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Do you French braid your hair?  Are different hairstyles interesting to you?

Do you like to see video entries?

Do you wish I’d stop fooling around and write funny kid stories?

Hair’s to my Stylist

I enjoy going to the hair salon with my two girls.

Right now I’m imagining all you extra frugal mothers out there gasping.  Yes, I pay to have my little girls hair cut.

  • It’s a fun girl time.
  • It costs about $30.00 every 8 weeks, and that includes getting my eyebrows waxed.  Plus, she curls the girl’s hair and they actually sit for her.
  • It prevents disasters such as this one that Wendy and her craft scissors participated in.
  • My husband encourages it.
  • God says in I Cor. 11:15 that our hair is our glory, and we like to have nice looking glory.

I’m already dreading the day when Amy retires.  She has cut my hair since I was in middle school.  She’s still young; I think she started cutting hair when she was a baby.  [That's in case she reads this because I told her that I was going to blog about our hair cuts.]

She gave me my first perm when I was 12 and my hair was down to my waist.  She was about 9 months pregnant and I didn’t want her to go into labor before my perm was done.  I’m not telling how old her son is now.

Towards the end of my high school years and my early married years I wanted to save money so I “left” Amy and got my hair cut by students and other salons closer to me.  Jumped around trying to find someone to do a good job.

My friends and readers, it’s not worth it.  The final straw was the lady that chopped off my hair at chin level.  I humbly crawled back to Amy and vowed to never stray from her scissors again.  My husband gladly gave me the money so he wouldn’t have to listen to me whine and cry about my hair.

Amy graciously took me back and has let me come back through missed appointments, crying babies, and showing up on the wrong day.

I’m a bit better at remembering the apointments now.  Besides my husband reminds me when the girls start peering through their bangs.

So thank you my favorite hair dresser, for knowing how long an inch really is and for steering me and my daughters to ever nicer hair styles.  May you live with good health for many years, never get arthritis, and personally train a replacement.
