Will They Hang A Lady?

The thing that stands out to me the most about the book A Lady Like Sarah by Margaret Brownley is how different it is. That is a compliment! I can’t think of any other book I’ve read that is like this one.  I fell in love with the characters and would love to hear more about them.

The main hero, Justin Wells, spreads the gospel by his tongue and his actions.  The heroine, Sarah Prescott, is willing to listen and learn.  First there is the problem that she’s sentenced to hang and he’s a preacher. Throw in some outlaw brothers, a new-born babe, Indians, rotten lawmen, Moses the mule – even a quilting circle.  It all made for a great book.

The only thing I’m not fond of is the cover picture.  The slight resemblance to Lindsey Lohan just bothers me. Sorry. [Read more...]
