May Day is Our Wedding Anniversary

Ten years today! Some times it feels like yesterday and some times it feels like forever! My Mr. Wonderful will agree with me, I’m sure. If not, then no more anniversaries. Just Kidding! I wouldn’t let him go if he tried.

What is Marriage?

by Helen Steiner Rice

It is sharing and caring,
giving and forgiving,
loving and being loved,
walking hand in hand,
talking heart to heart,
seeing through each other’s eyes,
laughing together,
weeping together,
praying together,
and always trusting
and believing and
thanking God for each other…
For love that is shared is a beautiful thing -
it enriches the soul and makes the heart sing.

Come On Down!

yard sale signMy MIL and I are gearing up for a rather large yard sale on Saturday.  It will be the last one at this house.

Feel free to come visit! :)   Bring your change.

If you can’t come would you consider praying that lots and lots of things sell?  I’d love, love, LOVE to be able to buy my husband a new camera lens.  It could be an anniversary present and he could use it on our trip to AZ.

Did you catch that comment about the trip?  Not only are we in the middle of moving and selling our house…We are going on a trip for our 10th anniversary.  My first plane trip is coming up! Rather quickly too. Pardon me while I stress out…

I found the following quote that fits quite well for this specific occasion:

When one is young and has little money, it is prudent to spend that little on the unnecessary, the emotional dividends being higher.   Clifton Fadiman, New York editor and writer

I also wanted to let you know that we have a PayPal account.  Just in case anyone is interested.

Waiting For Dessert

Valentines Day

I’m still here in our favorite date cafe.  With my Mr. Wonderful.  Without my kids.  Oh yeah!

The color scheme is pleasant.  Their choice of art work for the walls could be improved.

The food was as scrumptious as expected.  Our gift certificate was for a larger amount this time so we got some dessert.  Their dessert just isn’t good enough to splurge on often.  Their sandwiches are.

How much was the gift certificate?  A whopping $25.00.  We even have money left.

My husband figured out why it was so busy when we first came in.  Not because of Valentine’s Day as we first thought; because of a nearby concert.

Since it is Valentine’s Day I guess I should sign off and talk to my husband.

Did any of you eat out for Valentine’s day?

Live Blogging – Am I Cool, or What?

I know, or what.

valentines day roseI am sitting in Panera Bread on Valentine’s Day using the free Internet service.  I am having fun!  You are probably thinking, “Why is she typing while she is out with her husband?”  “Without kids, no less.”  I’ve always wanted to take the laptop to this restaurant and look important while I type.  Well, I accomplished the first part.

I’m not being reimbursed for this endorsement of Panera.  Therefore I’m not going to go into the raptures of joy that I could.  However, if any of you out there have connections I would be more than glad to praise this cafe in exchange for gift certificates.

Excuse me while I consume my food.

Sunday Musings ~ Quotes on Love

Pink Heart

 Serious Thoughts:

  • Love cannot be wasted.  It makes no difference where it is bestowed, it always brings in big returns.
  • We like someone because.  We love someone although.
  • Love sees through a telescope — not a microscope.
  • We may give without loving, but we cannot love without giving.
  • Love which has ends will have an end.
  • All loves should be stepping stones to the love of God.
  • Add all the love of all the parents and the total sum cannot be multiplied enough times to express God’s love for me, the least of His children.

Humor [with a grain of truth]:

  • A long life is barely enough for a man and a woman to understand each other; and to be understood is to love.  The man who understands one woman is qualified to understand pretty well everything.
  • Mrs. – “Do you love me still? Mr. – “Yes, better than any other way.”
  • We married because we have so many faults in common.
