I know that I have Momnesia at times. Is there a word for how your brain is while moving house?
I think I need to wear a sign: “Please be patient with me. My brain is concentrating on moving, and can’t remember other things.”
I’m forgetting to tell people things they need to know and giving others too much information.
There’s a bunch of things I do at the first of each month. I squeaked some under the deadline, but some have fallen by the wayside.
I know that you expect witty posts from my blog – not that I ever did witty posts, but you can keep expecting. Hopefully, I will have my concentration back on track in another month. In the meantime please don’t leave me! I will try to post any great stories that happen to us.
There’s some other plans in the works for my blog involving design, videos, and lots of fun.
It was a busy but good day today. The Lord is good.
The papers are signed and the selling process is started. Our house will officially go on the market in about three and a half weeks.
We had a great blessing today. We won’t have to fix something we thought we had to fix. It will save us about $4,000.
Another pick-up load of stuff left our house…[By the yard it's hard, by the inch what a cinch. That's what I keep telling myself.]
And last, but not least:
a>

to Faith – my friend, sister in Christ, regular reader and commenter [thanks so much!]. She has the best birth date in the world! Four years earlier is the bestest date.
I want to include Cyndi and Brenda in this congrats also. They are already swapping pregnancy cravings and tips through the blogosphere. I helped bring them together! At least I think I did. Maybe I just like to think I did.
If ya’ll would be so kind as to leave your due dates on this post I’d be very grateful.
P.S. Terri – if you leave a due date I’ll faint!
Since moving is the biggest thing on my mind right now I hope you don’t mind that I post about it again. The other things on my mind today are diapers and groceries. Don’t worry, I won’t write about them today. Maybe tomorrow.
Why are we moving?
Where are we moving?
I think that pretty much fills you in on the details.
There are some comments with great moving advice on my previous post. Thank you! I’m going to work on a compilation of advice to post later. Feel free to add any more advice you can think of.
I have only moved once in my life. I moved from my parents house to my house with my husband. Unless you count from the hospital to my parent’s house…
We are going to move. My second move! This will be quite different from moving out of one room as a single girl to a whole house as a married woman. This is a family of five and ten years of accumulation.
There’s one more twist. Most of our possessions will be in storage for several months. Lord willing, no longer than six.
So, I need help! Help! Any moving tips or links to great advice sites would be wonderful. I’m counting on you ladies. I know that Cyndi and Faith have moved quite a bit. I’m not sure about the rest of you [all five], but I’ll take any advice. What should I most avoid? What should I definitely do?
This is where I started:
I have six 18 gallon totes packed full and five shelves left to be packed. I’m packing sheets, sweaters, and blankets around the books to make the boxes not too heavy.
You can’t say to get rid of books. I’ve already whittled it down to these. Two of those shelves are music. I did make a foot high stack of books to get rid of. Are you proud of me? There is another full bookshelf in my room…and there is a library book sale on April 19. I’m so glad for an understanding husband who knows I’d rather get rid of my clothes than my books.
The house needs to be show ready by April 21, 2008.
Hit me with your bestest advice!
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Psalm 43:8
