The autoharp usually generates interest when I take it some place to play a song. I’ve been fooling around with it for a couple years off and on – self-taught with the help of a really good autoharp player on YouTube. Praise the Lord for a husband that doesn’t mind tuning strings.

This is my wooden soprano recorder; it goes wonderful with children’s voices. I started with a plastic recorder in elementary school [like most everyone, I think], but never fully pursued it. I’ve heard great classical musicians with a recorder – and I can’t play like that. I’ve only taught myself enough to play songs with up to 2 accidentals. I have a wooden alto recorder, but haven’t take the time to become proficient on it.
Music Is Good For You In So Many Ways
Even if you can’t play or sing a clear note you can still benefit from music – but musicians benefit more [hee-hee].

Lovin’ The Kid-Tough Music Player
My oldest daughter loves music. All my munchkins like music, but she loves music. Last year for Christmas we looked for a karaoke type of toy for her with a microphone but ended up not getting her any. The songs on the ones we saw were very limited and honestly, not the type of music I wanted playing in my house.
This year Fisher Price has a Kid-Tough Music Player available. They were so kind to send us one to review. We absolutely love it. It’s a digital music player with speakers – and a microphone! I just connect it to the computer through a USB port and add whatever songs I want. Sometimes I delete whatever songs I want. Why do they always listen to the same 3 songs?! I added about 50 for them to play, but they skip, skip, skip till they get to their favorite. [Read more...]
