Thank You Online Friends

I know that I’ve talked about online friends before, but it still amazes me how I can feel like I know a person I never met.  I know that I don’t really know them, but I do know quite a bit about them.  Know what I mean?  [Just couldn't help it - I knowingly did it.]

Monday mornings I think about it more because I stay off the computer on Sundays.  Today the line from You’ve Got Mail is running through my brain, “What will NY152 say today?”  Except in my case it’s “What will my friends say today?”  Maybe it’s on Twitter, on their blogs, through e-mail, or MomTV.

When I get to meet some of them in real life it is so exciting!  And guess what!  I’m going to meet Courtney and several other wonderful ladies at Blissdom ’10!  Even more exciting… I’m speaking for the vlogging workshop on Thursday!  I’m so excited…and nervous…and what am I going to wear!? :)  Did I mention that I’m excited?

Right now the plans are for my whole family to go and stay in a condo.  My husband managed all right with the kids last year while I was at the conference.  He’s even more confident about it this year.  He’d like to show me the zoo this year. I’m sure I’ll keep you posted [pun intended] about our trip.

Meanwhile, thank you for being my friend.  Thank you for reading this blog.  Thank you for connecting with me through comments and other ways.  You make my online world so much better.

Do You Have Online Friends?

I do have online friends and I’m so glad I do.  I’m glad that you – yes you –  are my friend.

Here are some clips I put together about online friends.

This post linked to Casual Friday.

A Bit of Scenery

I took this picture for Lauren Christine who likes Beverly Lewis books. This is Amish country in the general area where Beverly Lewis grew up. The farm I took the picture from is not an Amish farm.

The picture just doesn’t do it justice. It was a beautiful day!

God has truly made a beautiful earth for us to live in!

This Blogging Stuff is Fun!

I started reading blogs in the fall of ’06, and I was pretty much immediately addicted.  Yes, I’m a little nosey; and really, has anyone not wanted to sneak and read someone’s diary?

As my favorites list got longer and longer I started regaling my husband with all these stories and he started to wonder if I would ever be quiet.

Then the urge came to start one of my own; and I quickly suppressed it.  Day after day I would see things or think of things that I could blog about and I started compiling a list.  I still didn’t start my own blog, because “I don’t need the added thing to do, the pressure of having to do it every day, nobody will want to read about me, etc.”

I finally caved in July.  I’m having a blast!  Yes, there have been days when I really don’t want to sit at the computer – that’s when you get those little “fluff” posts or links.  At first I had all kinds of ideas so I would only post one a day to stretch them out, but I posted 2 (TWO) in one day recently and might do it again today.

I was finally able to think of something for Works For Me Wednesday that wasn’t too inane.  I joined the carnival and my stats soared!  My husband just stood back as I did my happy dance around the computer desk.  [Ya know, you can find something to join for about any day of the week.]  Now I have to wrack my brain all week thinking of something to post next Wed.  Somehow I don’t think that Instant Mashed Potatoes or How to Unwrap Reese’s PB Cups would be what they are looking for.

I’ve been meeting new online friends (*gasp* who’d have thought I’d have online friends!) just about every day.  Today I found out that I’m on another blog roll!  Woo-hoo!  Can you feel the excitement!  I signed up to be on some big blogroll lists; but I asked them.  These are some personal blogs that listed me without me begging asking! Ever Joyful, The View From My Fishbowl, Modern Christian Homestead and Home is Where the Mom Is .

I’m still learning and the FAQ is one of the pages I visit most.  Little by little…

So, the pressure is on.  Write often, write good; and don’t add music that starts by itself. :D

P.S.  If I’m on your blogroll just leave me a comment and I’ll come check out your blog.
