I painted my room dark purple and I love it.

Every day they begged to paint. We said, “You are not going to paint any room upstairs.” However, for the basement we would take all the help we could get. We bought a rather large bucket of primer [recommended by the man in Lowe's] to start covering the dark paneling.
We had already torn out the carpet so it didn’t matter about the drips. We raided Daddy’s old T-shirts so it didn’t matter about the clothes.
or The Day Mommy Said No Electronics Allowed
Last week we had our last day of school! I was as excited as my kids. Three days later I realized that they were just going from one electronic toy to another. Without me consciously realizing it they had gotten in the routine of going from ipods, to gameboys, to DVDs, to playing the Kinect, to computer games, etc. They were still going outside, but they were taking their electronics out with them.
I don’t know about your kids, but I have found that different attitudes arise the more my children use electronics. They tend to fuss at each other more and tell me they “don’t know what to do.” So I put my proverbial foot down and said nothing electronic for the day.
My husband is the chief mechanic at a local railroad that hauls local freight and tourists. One of the projects this winter was painting an ALCO S-6 locomotive. It was originally bought by Western Maryland in the 1950′s. They restored the engine to it’s original colors.
Next week I would like to show you how to drive a locomotive.
While my in-laws were away working at our church camp I painted their stairway from the garage to the kitchen.
After a complete coat of white paint I decided to put some color on the block wall at the bottom.
Then I turned around and oh, no! Look at the wall!

Not really. I dipped my kids hands in the paint on purpose, and boy was I nervous.
It turned out good; better than I expected. I’m also glad that my in-laws like it and don’t want me to re-paint it plain white.
I saw a wreath that some crafty mother had made with hand cut-outs so I decided to try it while their hands were messy.
When I babysat or taught I never really got the big deal of making handprints for the mothers. Now as the mother of 3 I look at a great set of little handprints and feel all warm and fuzzy.
It did take over a week for the kids to stop admiring “their” work. Plus, I had to stop them from putting their hands on each painted print whenever they used the stairs. At least the painted handprints will help to hide the dirty handprints.
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
