Create A Photo Book For A Great Gift – Giveaway included

Photobook giveaway information at bottom of post. Ends 12/10/12.

photo bookLast month I was able to be a part of a very special lady’s birthday. I helped make her cry, but they were good tears! Really. She is the owner of the bird rescue house that we visit and for her birthday the group presented her with a photo book. Inside the photo book was stories and pictures from people who have had the rescue enrich their life and help them learn how to care for birds as pets.

I’ve used photo books as unique, personalized gifts before and while I might not say Shutterfly Photo Books: The Best Gift Ever; they are pretty close!

Somehow when the scrapbook idea first came up I opened my big mouth and talked about the neat photo books you can make through Shutterfly. I thought it would be easier if everyone could just email pictures and letters because most of us use digital cameras anyway. Turns out that if you open your mouth like that you get to put the book together. It actually was fun; another lady hounded the people for pictures and letters than forwarded them to me. I took a bit of time each evening before bed and added the latest pictures to the photo book. I love that I can scrapbook without having to drag out a pile of stuff to use; I just open my laptop, log in, save when I’m done, and go on my way. I was even able to get a sale discount and free shipping. It was an awesome gift to show her how much we appreciate all that she does.

Get Free Photos In Exchange For Submitting Pictures

Now Shutterfly has a photo sweepstakes challenge called Long Live Summer. Maybe the possibility of prizes will give me the motivation to keep entering photos.

Going To Join The Summer Photo Challenge And Make It Move

With the recent release of Instagram for Android I’ve been having fun playing around and thought that it was finally my chance to participate in #photoaday. I started in May and did 20 days. In June I’ve done about 3 so far…and it’s the 11th day. Yea, going downhill fast.

Great Android App For Photography

If you’re active online or with mobile devices you’ve probably heard of Instagram. BUT – it’s only for Apple users and my phone is Android based. I really wanted to fool around with filters over pictures. After a bit of research I found this fun app called Lightbox that is for Android phones and very similar to Instagram – and it’s free! Here’s some of the pictures I’ve taken recently:

Thought Provoking Picture

My husband took this picture.  He saw it one week and captured it the next, but he doesn’t like the way it turned out.  I think it’s really neat!  A bunch of analogies have flitted through my mind.  I’m going to just let the picture speak for itself.
