Sunday Poem ~ My Favorite Place To Pray

bench in garden

My garden is a peaceful place
Where I can go to slow my pace.
There while digging in the sod
I seek direction from my God.

No problem is too big or small;
He listens to them, one and all.
I always know I’ll find Him there
To comfort me and hear my prayer.

I often run a little late,
But lovingly He always waits
To share my joy and hear my cares
In my lovely place of prayer.

We talk a lot, my God and I;
He lets me laugh, He lets me cry.
And when I don’t know where to start,
It’s them He listens to my heart.

Sunday Poem ~ A.S.A.P.

Ever wonder about the abbreviation A.S.A.P.? Generally we think of it in terms of even more hurry and stress in our lives. Maybe if we think of this abbreviation in a different manner, we will begin to find a new way to deal with those rough days along the way.

There’s work to do, deadlines to meet; You’ve got no time to spare,
But as you hurry and scurry- A.S.A.P. – ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
In the midst of family chaos,”Quality time” is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest- A.S.A.P.- ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

It may seem like your worries are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather- A.S.A.P. – ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
God knows how stressful life is; He wants to ease our cares,
And He’ll respond to all your needs- A.S.A.P. – ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

Video From MckMama

This “vacation” I’ve been lousy with many normal vacation things.  I had good intentions to have the kids send postcards…totally forgot. I brought along school reading books and math facts…totally forgot.

I do have awesome stories about the Blissdom Conference.  I do have a big list of improvements for this site and Simple Vlogging Tips.

I did get a video for my friend. She doesn’t have a blog – she’d rather take pictures than write – but she reads MckMama and other great blogs [like this one ;) ]. She rallied our church to pray for Stellan. She kept us updated and activated the prayer chain at crucial times.  She has never had the chance to meet MckMama, but I did since MckMama was one of the keynote speakers at Blissdom. Sunday Poem ~ A Prayerful Day

Silhouette of Woman Praying by Highbridge

Each morning as I wake up
and face a brand new day,
I pause for just a moment,
and take the time to pray.

I thank God for safe-keeping
of my family through the night,
and for the brand new morning
that’s so beautiful and bright.

I thank Him for my blessings,
and for what He has in store;
For altho’ He’s done so much for me,
I know He’ll do much more.

And the I ask for guidance,
so that I can find my way.
For without Him I would stumble,
and with temptations surely stray.

Then as the day comes to an end,
and nighttime closes in,
I pause for just a moment -
and talk to God again.

Sunday Poem ~ When Father Asked the Blessing

Family of Evangelical Baptists Praying at Home by Yale Joel

When Father asked the blessing
And in reverence bowed his head,
Our hearts were filled with gladness
And our spirits took were fed.

The table spread before us
Was one of modest fare,
The food was always wholesome
And served with love and care
.

The sharing of our problems
While at the noonday meal
Lightened our burdens somehow,
And joy seemed more real.

In telling to our family
Our future plans and schemes,
We furthered worthwhile ventures
And helped realize our dreams.

A home is such a happy place
Where loved ones share together
The brightness of the fireside
In times of chilly weather.

When Father asked the blessing
And in reverence bowed his head,
We thanked the Lord in unison
For this, our daily bread.
