Is There Such A Thing As Too Much Computer Back Up?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Carbonite for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Carbonite Online Backup

My father-in-law learned a lesson in a very hard way. While rearranging his office he dropped his external hard drive. In less than a minute everything he had on the hard drive was unaccessible. Well, he could have paid an extraordinary amount of money to ship the broken hard drive several states away with the possibility that they might – only MIGHT – recover the data. If he would have been using Carbonite it would have been no problem at all.

Color Blanks From RoseArt

These were part of my children’s Easter presents. Yes, it’s taken me a while to do a review. They had disappeared into the other toys – which is a good sign – and I had to have the kids bring them together for a picture.

RoseArt's Color Blanks

My 8 year old son colored the black dog, 6 year old daughter the light blue duck, and 4 year old daughter the multi-colored cat. She didn’t color as fast as they did and so she didn’t finish; now the markers are lost [or I threw them out when they weren't looking because they were on the floor] and her “cat” will just have to have some white spots.

Help With Goal Setting And Chore Charts

goal for itGoalforit.com is a site with free access to neat tools. Here are some things you can do on the site:

  • set goals and list the action you need to take to accomplish them.
  • create a chore chart for each of your kids – or yourself.
  • make to do lists or behavior charts.
  • write journal entries.
  • connect with family and friends.

I was able to sit down, register, and start using it right away. The graphics for the charts are bright and fun. I didn’t have to go through a tutorial or FAQs page to figure out how to use it. [Read more...]

Review and Giveaway | Kinect Your Shape Fitness Evolved

Your Shape Fitness Evolved Kinect GameWhat my kids think of this exercise program/games:

  • It’s fun.
  • It’s neat.
  • It copies us really good.
  • Our favorite is the balancing game except sometimes it’s hard to hold their arms up that long.
  • The punching is fun in the virtual smash.

It’s a good mix of levels for my kids with some easier games and some challenging. I’ve had fun with it as well as woke up sore the next morning.

Listen to the following video to hear what I think of it.

I do want to mention that when I was wearing a longer skirt it didn’t seem to pick up my feet movements. I do not know if the light or my newness to the game contributed to it. I had no problems otherwise.

I’m excited to announce that you can win a game too!

Just leave a comment on this post. The giveaway will end Friday, March 18, 2011 at midnight EST.

Redbox Is Fun!

RedboxWe’ve made Monday night our family movie night. It’s a fun, easy thing to do that the kids love. Although I’m not sure that watching a movie together qualifies as good family time…we like it. It’s also a very cheap – ahem, frugal – night. We can choose from our collection of movies, free movies at the library, and Redbox! My husband and I both have an account so the first Monday of each month we each get a text with a free movie code. You can have an account for each credit/debit card you have.

Lately I’ve been using Redbox.com more often. I can see what they have, watch the preview, and even reserve the DVD in a certain machine. Then I text my man what movie we want and where to get it. Such fun! There are 3 Redboxes close together in our town so if he wants a certain movie he calls me to find out which one has it available.
